Learning proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketch Up is a essential in becoming a designer and having tools to aid my craft. I've been dabbling in Photoshop and SketchUp, thinking about the word "Order" and how to use materiality and layout to emphasize and juxtapose the meaning.
Below are two photoshopped SketchUp sketches. I used irony to rearange the lettering, using them as elements rather than physical type. I also choose to use grass as the material to allude to how the natural world encompasses order in a chaotic way.

House boats line the Regent’s Canal in London, inhabiting the waterfront through vintage moored dwellings. Fashionista, Emma Freemantle, is able to touch both sides of her narrowboat at the same time, which indicated the type of boats- narrow. With a mere 11m long the interior is compact. After a quick scan, materials from around the world seem to be within an arm’s distance away, ranging from the Edwardian typewriter, Terra Cota tile work, Russian nutcrackers, a French poster and arts and crafts styled counter space.
She focuses on reuse of vintage and reclaimed items to piece together a ‘stylish’ interior which mixes bohemian traits with slight chaotic messiness. The interior of her boat is made free of polymer-based products which extends to her thinking on sustainability. She thinks that there is enough stuff in the world and believes in reuse. Her interior is decorated with her line called Worn with Love, where she pieces together objects to create garments and head dresses- such as her Swollows and Amazons- or her patchwork wall hanging- sewn together from vintage fabrics and Bennison offcuts. She sources her materials from local shops. Creating an object requires a specific skill set. You must allow for inspiration to irrupt across disaplines or from experiances. Allowing the material to guide your intentions is another critical aspect of model making. Through the use of cardboard and a hanging light I was challanged to create an inspired pendent lamp using only the one material and adhesive. Pushing and pulling, experimenting and failing led to my success for two semi-finals. INSPIRATION WORD CONTRAST: The state of being strikingly different from something else DIRECTIONAL: Having a particular direction of motion, progression BALANCED: Arranged in good proportions GATHER: Come together; assemble or accumulate.
