So. Let's begin at the beginning.
I have been asked to locate any science that interests me and then I will be developing a scientists' lab through a series of thought expanding, and hopefully paradigm shifting steps throughout the next five months. I will be dutiful in updating along the way to both track progress and potential. This blog will work in tandem with my research blog-which is a medley of readings, thoughts, ideas and clarifications. My focus is on how to create buildings that do good in the world, instead of imagining buildings that are less bad. As such, I have chosen a site that has been under explored and offers a substantial amount of information on how we should begin thinking about urban planning and development. With more than 5 billion people on this planet, and many, with the innate need to live on top of each other (literally), we- as a global community- need to start seriously thinking about how to build differently. So during these next 5 months I will be layering programing and information into a simple, and sustainable- of course- laboratory where our dear friends at the Veta La Palma National Reserve in Spain can delve deeper into the meaning of supported community and living ecosystems to more successfully transplant ecosystems into urban living successfully.
